In Your Eloquence

I sit next to you

Listening to your eloquent words

I look around

And that’s when I see

You and Her.

She holds your heart

Who am I kidding

To think that I could ever hold your heart

When she still does

And as it seems

Always will.

Circles

Spinning in circles
We can't move forward.
The same words slip through your lips, again.
Still spinning,
You reach out
A signal of hope that maybe, just maybe it's time to move forward.
But you let go
And we keep spinning.
How long are we going to keep spinning in these circles
Before we get too dizzy
Before it is time to move on?
Circles may have no end
But this circle that we are spinning in,
Its end is near.

Questions

Do you think They can hear us talking,
the Angels,
Even when we don't say a word?
Do you think that They watch over us,
Protect us
Even when we don't believe?
Do you think that They perform miracles
to make us believe?
Do you think that They walk among us
Performing random acts of kindness
Even when nobody cares?
They are the good in this world of evil.
Believe in Them,
And They believe in You.

11:11

It's 11:11, make a wish.
Go on, make another wish
To add to the wishes that will never come true.
It's 11:11.
Go on little girl, make a wish
To add to the expectations that will never be reality.
It's 11:11
What are you going to wish for?

When the World Turns Its Back, Who Can You Turn To?

I stand staring as their backs slowly start to turn, one by one.
That is when the rain starts falling and my heart starts sinking.
I call out, "I need you, don't go!"
But they keep walking as if they never heard me,
as if they never knew me.
A sharp pain rises in my chest
and I fall to my knees in surrender to the pain.
How can they leave now, knowing that I need them?
The rain is coming down harder now.
They said they cared, they promised to be there for me, and yet they turn their backs just like that.
It is as if the world is turning its back on me.
Where do I go from here?
I can still see them, in pairs walking towards the dark horizon.
My body trembles in fear, in sadness.
My head is spinning with questions
Why....
Why....
Why...
Suddenly a light breaks through the clouds and the rain stops, my tears.
I know it is them watching over me...the three angels that are always there.
That is when I heard the voice calling me from behind where my back was facing.
"We are here for you. We've always been here for you."
I turn around and in the bright, blinding horizon I see them.
Four silhouettes reaching out to me.
The ones I can count on when the rest of the world turns its back on me.
